IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Ann
(Olien) Josephson
May 16, 1920
Mary Ann (Olien) Josephson was born May 16, 1920, at Finlayson, Minnesota, to Andrew and Nicoline (Cornelius) Olien. The family moved to a farm southwest of Clarkfield, Minnesota, where she attended Clarkfield Public School and graduated from there in 1938. After high school, she attended a post graduate course in business and on completion started working for the Agriculture Stabilization Service in Clarkfield where she worked for five years. On September 5, 1943, she and John Josephson of Minneota, Minnesota, were united in marriage at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Clarkfield. To the union, two children were born, a son, Richard and a daughter, Karen. Mary Ann loved garden work and flower beds as well as doing a lot of embroidery, fancy work, crocheting, fine needle work, all kinds of crafts, and baking. One of her favorite projects was to decorate and make up boxes of cookies to give at Christmas time. Mary Ann enjoyed helping others and she always had time to help someone who was sick. She was a very active member with Ladies Aid and other activities of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Minneota where they were longtime members. After recently moving to Clarkfield, they joined Clarkfield Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband John; son Richard and wife Deborah of St. Cloud, Minnesota; daughter Karen and husband Scott Theis and two grandchildren Danielle and Dominic of Stillwater, Minnesota; a sister Clarice of Minneapolis, Minnesota; a sister-in-law Inger Olein of Montevideo, Minnesota; and a sister-in-law Louise (Josephson) Solberg and husband Lawrence of St. Paul, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Lyle.
