Obituary

Mary Elizabeth (Holm) Jahn (December 11, 1929 ~ December 11, 2011) Mary Elizabeth (Holm) Jahn was born on December 11, 1929, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to parents George and Eleanor (Joseph) Holm. She has one brother, George. She was baptized and confirmed in Minneapolis. Mary's father passed away at a very early age and Mary and her mother and brother continued in live in Minneapolis where she attended school and graduated from the Minneapolis Public Schools. Following graduation she worked as a secretary for the Minneapolis Public School District until her marriage. Mary married Bernard F. Jahn, of Montevideo, on September 15, 1951, at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Minneapolis. Following Bernard's graduation from Veterinary School they moved to Minneota, Minnesota, and resided there for about two years. They then moved to Clarkfield and made that their permanent home. Mary was the office manager and bookkeeper for her husband for the next 40 years. Following the death of her husband in 2002, she moved to the Clarkfield Apartments, then to Valhalla Apartments and to the Clarkfield Care Center in 2005. Mary was a faithful member of St. Isidores Church in Clarkfield until its closing at which time she became a member of St. Joseph Church in Montevideo. She was in Homemakers Club, Altar and Rosary Society, Walking Group, Sewing Club, Hospital and Care Center Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She also was involved with the Blood Mobile. Mary passed away on her 82nd birthday, December 11, 2011, at the Clarkfield Care Center. She is survived by her children: William (Kathy) of Boyd, Robert (Roxanne) of Marshall, David (Gail) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Dan (Ruth) of Clarkfield and Sue (Tom) Wagener of Shorewood. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and her brother George (Yvonne) Holm of Conifer, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bernard.
