(Gullickson) Stevens
April 28, 1885 – February 27, 1959
Mary C. Stevens was born in Sandnes Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, April 28, 1885, the daughter of Helge Gullickson and Ingeborg S. (Olson) Gullickson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church. On March 17, 1907, she was married in the same church to Carl Alfred Stevens. Their early married life was spent in Hanley Falls where she also served as a telephone operator. They moved to a farm south of Hanley Falls and later to the homestead of her parents, where her husband died in 1930. She lived in the Hazel Run and Hanley Falls community until the time of her death. She suffered a stroke and spent the last three weeks in the hospital and passed away Friday, February 27, 1959. Surviving are three sons: Virgil and Maurice of Hanley Falls and Roger of Hazel Run; also a foster daughter, Mrs. Wilma (Stevens) Bailey of Denver, Colorado, and four foster grandchildren. Two sisters and two brothers also survive: Mrs. Victor Holte of Dawson, Minnesota, and Mrs. Paul Williams of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Fred Gullickson of Hanley Falls and Henry Gullickson of Minneapolis. Her husband, Carl A. Stevens, her parents, one brother and three sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Stevens was a devout and sincere Christian and was a member of the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
