Mary Christine Cornelius was born November 30, 1890, in Clarkfield, Minnesota, daughter of Olai and Anna (Hanson) Amundson. She married John Cornelius June 18, 1912. To this union eight children were born. She died Thursday, March 12, 1981, at the Granite Falls Manor, Granite Falls, Minnesota, at the age of 90 years. Mary is survived by son, Chester of Clarkfield, daughter Doris (Mrs. Arden Morland) of Clarkfield, son Ward of Montevideo, Minnesota, son Alvin of San Diego, California, son Virgil of San Diego, California, daughter Armenta Frichtel of San Diego, California, and Janice (Mrs. Gerald Kietzmann) of Granite Falls, Minnesota; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and brother Emil Amundson of Clarkfield. She was preceded in death by her husband John; one son James, one son-in-law Edward Frichtel, five brothers: Alfred, Hans, Andrew, Theodore and Alvin; and three sisters: Dorothea, Mathilda and Bessie (Mrs. Marvin Jorgenson).
