Marvin Harvey Satre was born on June 9, 1921, to parents Morton and Hilda (Johansen) Satre on a farm located in the rural Clarkfield, Minnesota area. He was baptized on July 11, 1921, by Rev. O. Storsasli at the Clarkfield Norwegian Lutheran Church. He was confirmed in 1935 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd, Minnesota, by Pastor Martin Lien. He started school in a country school west of Clarkfield. After moving to a farm west of Boyd, Minnesota, he attended Country School District 68, northwest of Boyd. He began high school starting as a freshman in Boyd and then transferred to Clarkfield High School, where he graduated in 1939. Marvin and Janet Marie (Iverson) were married on September 7, 1954, in a ceremony at her home. They were the parents of a son, Marlin. Marvin farmed all his life raising crops and various livestock. He enjoyed his grandchildren, his pet dogs and cats, also camping and fishing with his wife Janet. He also enjoyed long drives looking at the countryside. He spent the last years of his life with son Marlin and family and his pets at their home. Marvin passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson, Minnesota, at the age of 88 years, 1 month and 29 days. He is survived by his son Marlin (Jeanine) Satre, his grandchildren: Brandon, Danielle and Michelle Satre all of Boyd, his sister Pearl Ingebritson of Portage, Michigan, nephew James (Jim) Ingebritson and nieces: Jean (Jeannie) Smith and Carol Kreuscher. He was preceded in death by his wife Janet, his parents, sister Bernice Kreuscher, brothers-in-law Russ Kreuscher and Marvin Ingebritson and nephew Robert (Bob) Ingebritson. Blessed be his memory.
