Marvin O. Moe was born at Lake Mills, Iowa on January 5, 1917 to Ole T. and Andrina (Thompson) Moe. He grew up in Swede Prairie Township and went to School District #104. He was confirmed at Israel Lutheran Church. He moved 3 miles east of Clarkfield and later to Hazel Run. On November 25, 1939 he married Magdalene (Bye) of Wegdahl. He started working for the Milwaukee Railroad in 1943 as a fireman, then became a Locomotive Engineer in 1951. He retired in 1981. Marvin passed away on Friday, September 23, 1994 at Willmar, Minnesota at the age of 77 years. He is survived by his wife, eight children: Elaine (Gary) Gabriel of Minneapolis; Marlys (David) Greseth of Clarkfield; Mary (Luther) Erickson of Montevideo; Marlin (Kathy) Moe of Gilette, Wyoming; Erland (Marcia) Moe of Foristell, Missouri; Eugene (Diana) Moe of Sterling Colorado; Jerome (LeAnn) Moe of Brookings, South Dakota; and DeLane (Susan) Moe of Brookings, South Dakota, and 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Evelyn Sievers of Clarkfield and Elnora (Leonard) Lange of Montevideo. He was preceded in death by his parents, one baby sister and brothers Telford and Arlen.
