Obituary

Martin T. Anderson, the son of Andrew and Bual (Olsdotter) Jeppsson was born February 8, 1872, at Skone, Sweden. He was baptized shortly thereafter at the Lutheran Church of Skone, Sweden, and in 1886 confirmed before the same congregation. He came to America in 1899 and farmed west of Hanley Falls, Minnesota. On May 29, 1902, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Albin who also came from his native community of Skone, at Clarkfield Lutheran Church by Rev. C.E. Shaleen. To this union five daughters and two sons were born: Esther, Marion, Julia, Helen, Erma, Milford and Elmer. In 1942, he retired from his farm west of Hanley Falls and moved with his wife to Hanley Falls. About a year ago he entered the Granite Falls Manor where he had been in good health until several weeks ago. On the afternoon of August 9, 1966, he passed from this life at the age of 94 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte (June 23, 1957); his brothers: Ole, Pete and John; sisters: Ellen, Marie and Anna. He is survived by his seven children: Milford and Elmer, Mrs. Marion Sheveland and Mrs. Esther Hardel, all of Hanley Falls, Mrs. Helen Gilbertson of Boyd, Minnesota, Mrs. Julia Toner of Aurora, Illoinois, and Mrs. Erma Hagestad of Wood Lake, Minnesota; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a brother, Nels of Skone, Sweden.
