Martha Gertrude Rupp, 83, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, died Tuesday, June 19, 1984, at the Granite Falls Manor, Granite Falls, Minnesota. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 22, 1984, at the Augustana Lutheran Church of Clarkfield with Pastor Ralph B. Belin officiating. The soloist was Loren Norgaard with organist Miss Norma Streich. Final Resting Place is the Clarkfield City Cemetery, Clarkfield, Minnesota. She was born February 22, 1901, to Olaf and Millie (Solmonson) Olson at Dundee, Minnesota, and she was baptized in the Lutheran faith. The family moved to Fulda, Minnesota, and she attended school there - attending Teacher's Normal School and graduating with a teaching certificate. She taught in Rose Hill Township, where she met Edmund Rupp and they were married October 12, 1923, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They had three children: Mrs. Patricia Jensen, Mrs. Jean Talke and James Rupp. She and her husband lived in Westbrook, Minnesota, until the fall of 1958 when they moved to Clarkfield and joined the Augustana Lutheran Church. She was an active member of the church Ladies Aid. She is survived by daughter Patricia (Mrs. Robert) Jensen of Granite Falls and son James and wife Diane of Minneapolis, Minnesota; sisters, Myra Jones of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, and Mabel Pederson of Worthington, Minnesota; brothers Melvin Olson of Minneapolis and Ted Olson of Fulda; sisters-in-law Lillian Rupp and Freida Nelson both of Westbrook; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Edmund in 1963; daughter Jean in 1964; her parents; three brothers and a sister. Casket Bearers were grandsons Steve Takle, Gary Jensen, Michael Jensen, Richard Jensen, David Rupp and Timothy Rupp. Honorary Casket Bearers were James Jensen, Dan Paulson, Ted Johnson, Robert Humphrey, Gregory Rupp and Paul Rupp. Arrangements by Lynner Funeral Home Since 1891 Clarkfield Minnesota
