Marlene Alvina West was born March 4, 1952, to parents Alfred and Altetta (Payne) West at the Clarkfield Memorial Hospital, Clarkfield, Minnesota. She was baptized the day of birth by Pastor P.L. Mork. On March 8, 1952, she underwent surgery at Abbott Hospital, Minneapolis. Everything passible was done to save her life, but she never fully recovered. She was brought home at the age of three weeks, and was lovingly cared for by her parents until God released her from her suffering on Christmas Day, 1953, at the age of one year, nine months and 21 days. She leaves to mourn her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred West and one sister, Julianna Marie, and a large number of other relatives.
