(Rowberg) Albin
August 5, 1926 – April 3, 2015
Marjorie (Marge) Elaine Albin was born on August 5th, 1926, the daughter of Edwin Sylvester and Mabel Elvira (Gustafson) Rowberg in Hanley Falls. She was baptized and confirmed at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church. She graduated from Hanley Falls High School in 1945, attended one year at St. Olaf College and graduated from Miss Wood's Kindergarten-Primary Training School in Minneapolis in 1947. She taught first grade in Willmar for five years. On June 7th, 1952, Marge was united in marriage to Kerman Elvern Albin at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls. They were blessed with three children: Douglas, Marjane and Mary. Kerman and Marge farmed south of Granite Falls for 50 years. Marge was a homemaker and helped Kerman with the farming. She was well known for her wonderful meals, goodies, lefse and Norwegian treats. In 2002 Kerman and Marge celebrated 50 years of marriage. Marge loved to watch the Twins, Vikings, Timberwolves, and U of M Gophers. She loved game shows. Spare time would find her playing solitaire, working crosswords and game puzzles, and playing cards. She was a member of Granite Falls Lutheran Church. She was involved in Ladies Aide, Homemakers Club, Birthday Club and Red Hat Club. Marge loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and with her family. A year after Kerman moved into the Granite Manor, Marge moved into Granite Falls and lived there 10 years. She was currently living at Home Front First in Montevideo. Marge passed away on Friday, April 3rd, 2015, at the age of 88 years. She is survived by her three children: Doug (and Lois) Albin of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Marjane (and Jim) McCallum of Pueblo West, Colorado, and Mary (and Doug) Millar of West Fargo, North Dakota; her four grandchildren: Melanie (and Neil) Winterfeldt, Brady (and Ashley) Millar, Andrew (and Emily) Albin and Kyle (and Stephanie) Millar; and by four great grandchildren: Ty, Brielle and Elsa Winterfeldt and Gwendolyn Albin and one more expected in May. She is also survived by two step-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Erling Albin; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kerman, who passed away on November 22, 2007; three brothers and four sisters-in-law: Lloyd and Helen Rowberg, Philip and Betty Rowberg, and Harland and Betty Rowberg, and Pearl Albin.
