Mrs. Marjorie Hoiland, 72, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, died Wednesday, September 3, 1986, at the Clarkfield Community Memorial Hospital. Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 8, 1986, at the Lynner Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gordon Trelstad officiating. Mr. Merrill P. Womack was the vocalist, singing "Beyond the Sunset" and "The Lord's Prayer." Casket Bearers were Floyd Beecher, Bud Koelke, Jerome Koenings, Eldred Laux, Oscar Stangeland and Jim Varpness. Final Resting Place is the Clarkfield City Cemetery, Clarkfield, Minnesota. She was born August 30, 1914, in Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, to Oscar and Lillian (Thorson) Ellefson. She attended school in the Dawson, Minnesota area and moved to Clarkfield with her first husband, Raymond Muller. They owned and operated Ray's Place Cafe for many years until retiring in 1975. On September 13, 1975, she married Merton Hoiland at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church and continued to reside in Clarkfield. She is survived by husband Merton of Clarkfield; son Richard Muller and wife Joy of Pensacola, Florida; three grandsons and a brother.
