Marjorie Lucille (Falkum) Kvistad (January 26, 1925 ~ November 26, 2010) Marjorie Lucille Falkum Kvistad was born at home in rural Clarkfield, Minnesota, on January 26, 1925, to parents Tom and Florence (Diggins) Falkum. She attended District 23 school through fourth grade then Clarkfield Public School until she graduated in 1942. On February 27, 1945, she married her lifelong friend and sweetheart, Philip James Kvistad of rural Echo, Minnesota. Marge was a member of the Clarkfield Assembly of God Church where over the years she served as Sunday School Superintendent and Secretary-Treasurer. During her lifetime she worked in the Clarkfield Bakery, the Clarkfield Care Center as a nursing assistant, and the Clarkfield Hospital as a cook. She enjoyed reading the newspaper, scrapbooking and was a passionate Minnesota Twins fan. Marjorie passed away on November 26, 2010, at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 85 years and 10 months. She was preceded in death by her husband (Philip); her parents; two brothers (Melvin and Raymond Falkum); one sister (Gladys McLean); one grandson (Joshua Dethlefs); and one son-in- law (Glenn Heald). Marjorie is survived by her seven children: Kathy (Jim) Dethlefs of St. Cloud, Dennis (Gwen) Kvistad of Wood Lake, Patty (Albie) Nelson of Clarkfield, Paulette Heald of Clarkfield, Barb (Erick) Merklinghaus of Seattle, Washington, Kevin (Laura) Kvistad of Burnsville and Keith (Teresa) Kvistad of Belle Plaine; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; her sister Ethel Willander of Clarkfield; brother-in-law John Kvistad of Granite Falls; sister-in-law Bertha Kvistad of Belview; and many nieces and nephews.
