Marion Annette (Anderson) Sheveland was born in Normania Township on January 20, 1905, to Martin T. and Charlotte Marie (Albin) Anderson. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on March 14, 1905, by Rev. Oppedal. She was confirmed at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Normania Township on April 27, 1919. She was united in marriage to Thebert Sheveland on June 14, 1928, at Hazel Run by the Rev. Haugland. Marion passed away on her 88th birthday, January 20, 1993, at the Granite Falls Hospital. She is survived by her daughters: Mavis Suffel of Golden Valley, Minnesota; Verna Anderson and husband, Gordon, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Shirley Bergthold and husband, Donald, of Rice Lake, Wisconsin; Charlene Hays and husband, Ted, of Tyler, Minnesota; Mary Steffl and husband, Bob, Of Maple Plain, Minnesota; sons: Wesley, Minneota, Minnesota; Wayne and wife, Natalie, of Akron, Iowa; Merald and wife, Carol, of Wood Lake, Minnesota; Dale and wife, Karen, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Grandchildren: Trudy Lerner, Gary Anderson, Jim Anderson, David Sheveland, Chad Sheveland, Wendi Ruhland, Wanda Johnson, Dan Bergthold, Bill Bergthold, Chris Sheveland, Travis Sheveland, Cathy Hays, Tom Hays, Theamarie Hageman, Brita Hays, Eric Sheveland, Adam Sheveland, Sarah Steffl, Anika Steffl, Elizabeth Steffl. Great grandchildren: Katie Anderson, Karl Anderson, Cory Anderson, Benjamin Lerner, Tracy Ruhland, Joseph Ruhland, Shawn Ruhland, Whitney Sheveland, Tony Johnson, Andrei Bergthold and Mason Sheveland. Sisters: Esther Hardel, Julia Toner, Helen Gilbertson and Irma Maxner all of Hanley Falls, and brother, Elmer Anderson and wife, Ann of Granite Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thebert; parents, Martin and Charlotte, and brother, Carl Milford Anderson. She was active in Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church, Hanley Falls Senior Citizens and several card clubs. She took pride in her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Most will remember Marion for her positive attitude and generous and friendly spirit.
