Marie O. Lien was born October 6, 1881, at Horningsdalen, Nordfjord, Norway, the daughter of Ole and Christina Lien. She was baptized and confirmed in the Horningsdalen Lutheran Church in Norway and was educated in that same community. She came to Canada, September 8, 1922, and moved to Breckenridge, Minnesota, in 1923 where she worked in a hotel until 1939 at which time she came to Clarkfield to keep house for Knute Espe. She was taken ill in December 1957 and entered the Clarkfield Hospital May 29, 1958. She was moved to the Erickson Rest Home in Benson September 6th and passed away there on October 8, 1958, at the age of 77 years and two days. She leaves to mourn, one brother in Saskatchewan, Canada, and one sister in Norway, besides nieces, nephews and many friends. IN MEMORY OF MARIE O.
