(Thiel) Rupp
April 13, 1888 – October 30, 1905
Margaret Elizabeth Rupp was born April 13, 1888, at Cherokee, Iowa, the daughter of Matthew J. Thiel and Anna (Flier) Thiel. On October 30, 1905, she was united in marriage to Herman Rupp at the Maryhill Catholic Church. The family lived at Howard, South Dakota, for four years, Cherokee, Iowa, for five years, Hazel Run, Minnesota, for nine years, and Mantorville, Minnesota, for two years before moving to their present farm eight miles east of Clarkfield, Minnesota, where they have lived the past thirty years. She has been a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. Last October 30, 1955, Mr. and Mrs. Rupp celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with festivities held at the Granite Falls city hall. This event will long be remembered by her husband and members of the family. Mrs. Rupp is survived by her husband and seven children, namely, Mildred (Mrs. Clarence Monson) of Stony Run Township, Marie (Mrs. Arleigh Ernston) of Minneapolis, Vincent, at home, Vernon of Clarkfield, Dorothy (Mrs. Ed Rude) of Minneapolis, Glen of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and Marjorie, at home. Preceding her in death are three sons, namely Elmer Mathew, Kenneth John and Hermy William; her parents; two brothers and two sisters. She is also survived by two sisters, Lena (Mrs. Herbert Smith) of Webster, South Dakota, and Mrs. Anna Rassel of Mitchell, Minnesota; three brothers: John, Frank and Mat Thiel of Webster, South Dakota; and the following grandchildren: Milford Elmer Rupp, Clair Hermy and Carol Ann Monson, Sandra and Zona Rupp, Patricia Marie Solberg, JoAnne Lee Rude, Ronald Glen, John David, and Gene Anthony and Gale Marie Rupp. Mrs. Rupp was a good mother, first to help in time of trouble. She not only cared for her own ten children, but three grandchildren as well. Blessed be her memory. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
