Margaret Sannerud was born on December 1, 1901, in Munich, North Dakota, to parents Peter and Elizabeth (Quiring) Adrian. She was baptized and confirmed in Munich and attended the Munich School through the 7th grade. Margaret married Christian Sannerud on May 29, 1923. They were the parents of five children: Alfred, Curtis, Eugene, Lois, and G. Peder. Christian and Margaret lived on their farm near Hazel Run, Minnesota, for 29 years. They moved to Hazel Run in 1955. Christian died in 1968. Margaret moved to Valhalla Apartments in Clarkfield in 1977. She made Valhalla her home for 21 years, until 1998, when she became a resident of the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota. Margaret was a member of the Hazel Run Lutheran Church, served as a Sunday School teacher, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Margaret enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and making quilts. Margaret passed away at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota, on Wednesday, January 19, 2005, at the age of 103 years, 1 month, and 18 days. She is survived by her children: Alfred (and Margaret) of Ham Lake, Minnesota, Curtis (and Jeannine) of Hazel Run, Minnesota, Eugene (and Sharon) of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Lois (and Theodore) Bartel of Kandiyohi, Minnesota, and G. Peder (and Marlo) of Hudson, Wisconsin. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, several great and great great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Christian in 1968, Grandson Theodore Bartel, and 11 brothers and sisters. Blessed be her memory.
