Margaret Elaine (Lynner) Gordon was born September 19, 1922, at Clarkfield, Minnesota, to parents H. C. and Clara (Melbostad) Lynner. She was one of five siblings born to them. She was baptized and confirmed (in 1937) at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. Margaret attended and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1940 and from St. Olaf College, Magna Cum Laude, in 1944. Margaret and Robert K. Gordon were united in marriage on June 19, 1948, at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church by Rev. J. E. H. Akre. This marriage was blessed with four daughters: Roberta, Carol, Pamela and Deborah. Prior to their marriage, she worked with the Red Cross in Texas, as a Social Worker. Robert and Margaret made their home in Willmar, Minnesota. She was a longtime member of Vinje Lutheran Church and was active in Circles, a church library volunteer, and also assisted in the "Meals-On-Wheels" program in Willmar. The last several years she had been cared for at home by her husband. Margaret passed away Sunday evening, December 30, 2001, at the Rice Memorial Hospital of Willmar, at the age of 79 years, 3 months, and 11 days. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert, of Willmar; their daughters: Roberta Morse, Carol Passi, Pamela Gordon Davis, and Deborah Gordon; and six grandchildren: Aarin, Alexandria, and Jacob Morse, Crystal Passi, and Kayli and Niall Davis. Also surviving are her siblings: Curtis (and Ruth) Lynner, Marian Nord, James (and Arlene) Lynner, and Ed Lynner; sisters-in-law: Kay Franke and Pat Barlow; cousins; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Blessed be her memory.
