Margaret Julia Esping Westre was born September 1, 1909, in Lyon County, Minnesota, the daughter of Herman and Augusta (Bakken) Esping of Canby, Minnesota. She passed away at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, June 13, 1952, after a lingering illness. She was baptized and confirmed in the Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota, Minnesota, by Rev. Hinderlie, and united in marriage to Eugene Westre, October 8, 1936. After a short stay at Clarkfield, they moved to Minneapolis in 1938. Mrs. Westre leaves to mourn her husband; her parents; two brothers, Irvin and Herman Esping, Jr.; and six sisters: Ione (Mrs. Arnold Thompson), Olean (Mrs. Alfred Gilgert), Hazel (Mrs. Albert Borson), Cecelia (Mrs. Joe Lozenski), Henrietta (Mrs. Clyde Bonsack) and Virginia (Mrs. Elmer Johnson); besides many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services were held at the Clarkfield Evangelical Lutheran Church on Monday, June 16, 1952, 2:00 p.m. with Rev. P.L. Mork officiating. Mrs. Arden Lynne sang two solos during the services.
