Maren O. Iverson was born July 31, 1877, at the farmstead north of Clarkfield. She was the daughter of the late Ole and Johanna (Olerud) Iverson, first settlers in Lisbon township. She was baptized by the late Rev. Lokensgaard and confirmed at the Bergen Lutheran Church July 24, 1892, by the Rev. Ole Lokensgaard. She cared for her father until his death in 1930 and since has lived alone in Clarkfield until in March, 1952, she became seriously ill and was moved to the Clarkfield Community Hospital for several weeks. Later she was cared for at her home, until two weeks before her death. She preferred to dispose of her living quarters to enter the Sausele Rest Home at Montevideo, where she seemed to be gaining strength for a time, but suffered a heart attack Wednesday morning, June 18 and passed away within a few minutes at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 18 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Iver and Halvor and a sister, Annie. Surviving are three brothers and a sister: Christian and Olaf of Boyd, Minnesota, Anton of Roslyn, South Dakota, and Mrs. Bernard Brovold of Granite Falls; and fifteen nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held Saturday, June 21, 1952, 2:00 p.m. at Bergen Lutheran Church, Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Rev. A.N. Iverson of Hazel Run, Minnesota, officiated. Two solos were sung by Mrs. Arden Lynne, who sang "Nearer, Still Nearer" and "Saviour Hear Us, We Pray". Pallbearers were six nephews of Miss Iverson: Harry, Clarence and Oliver Iverson, Olaf, Ernest and Benford Brovold. Maren Iverson was a kind and cheerful person, always ready to help in case of sickness and in time of need. Blessed be her memory. Arrangements by Lynner Funeral Home Since 1891 Clarkfield Minnesota
