Mamie Dotseth Knox was born November 16, 1893, in Normania Township. Her parents were Andrew O. and Lizzie (Fredrickson) Dotseth, pioneers of the Spring Creek area. She was baptized and confirmed in the Spring Creek Lutheran Church, attended school in Spring Creek, Clarkfield, and the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture in St. Paul, Minnesota. Mamie and Carl Knox of Granite Falls were married at her paternal home in Spring Creek in 1923. She and Carl lived for many years in the Spring Creek area before moving to Granite Falls. Mamie passed away June 9, 1977, at the Granite Falls Hospital, Granite Falls, Minnesota. Survivors include many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; her husband Carl; sisters: Nettie Dotseth Hanson, Annie Dotseth Larson, Hilda Dotseth Johnson; and brothers: Ole and Alfred Dotseth.
