Obituary

Mamie Louise Glaim was born July 6, 1894, in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of Knute and Bergit (Norgard) Glaim. On September 9, 1894, she was baptized by Pastor B. Bengtson and on June 27, 1909, she was confirmed by Pastor O. Lokensgaard in the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church at Hanley Falls. Mamie lived in Swede Prairie until her parents moved to Sandnes Township near Hanley Falls. There she cared for her parents until she was left alone when her father passed away in 1950. For several years Mamie continued living at the Glaim homestead--the place which was also the home of her grandparents who came to Sandnes in the summer of 1866. From there she moved to Hanley Falls and lived there until she moved to the Clarkfield Care Center in November 1966. In October 1968, she moved to the Clara City Nursing Home where she died from a heart attack Sunday afternoon, December 22, 1968, at the age of 74 years. Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Hellick, and three sisters: Hilda Strang, Clara Stenerson, and Anna Kieferle. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Hellick Glaim; 12 nieces and nephews; and a great number of grand and great nephews and nieces.
