Dr. Malvin I. Hauge was born March 9, 1904, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Malvin M. and Anna (Schjelderup) Hauge. His father started his medical practice in Clarkfield when Malvin was three years old. He was confirmed in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church and was graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1923. He enrolled at the University of Minnesota and received his M. D. degree in 1930.
