Malon Stevens, the son of Ole and Marie (Larson) Stevens, was born on April 2, 1891, at Hanley Falls, Minnesota. He was baptized on May 17, 1891, at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church of Hanley Falls by Rev. Knut Thorstenson and confirmed in 1906 before the same congregation by Rev. J.D. Runsvold. Malon Stevens served his country during the first World War and for the remainder of his life farmed west of Hanley Falls with his brother, Olai Stevens. He followed this occupation until 1960 when he became a resident of the Clarkfield Nursing Home. On the afternoon of June 29, 1964, he suffered a stroke and was taken to the Clarkfield Community Hospital where he passed from this life a few hours later. He was 73 years of age. He was preceded in death by his brother, Louis, and four sisters: Rhodena, Clara, Rena and Malena. Two brothers survive him, Olai and James of Hanley Falls, and two sisters, Mrs. Julia Jacobson of Clarkfield and Mrs. Helen Kirkeby of St. Paul. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
