Obituary

Mable Olivia Neal was born May 1, 1912 in Louriston Township, Chippewa County, Minnesota to John A. and Jennie (Anderson) Neal. She received her education at District 10 school. She attended the Buffalo Lake Mission Covenant Church where as a teen she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. She attended St. Paul Bible School 1936-37. Mable was united in marriage to Raymond Rupp from Butterfield Minnesota on May 1, 1939. To this union 3 children were born: Donald, David, and Arlene. Raymond and Mable were active in Summer Bible Schools, Sunday School, and Youth Gospel work. They began pastoral ministry with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Waubay, South Dakota in 1941. They subsequently served churches in Elk Mound, Wisconsin, Powersville and Ogden, Iowa, and Waterloo, Nebraska. They also served under the Evangelical Free Church of America in Benson. She was a devoted wife, mother and ministry partner, being active as a pianist and in youth and women's ministries. In 1967 they began a musical and speaking ministry in nursing homes in Kerkhoven and Benson. In 1983 they moved to Clarkfield and continued to serve with a Bible study at the Clarkfield Care Center as long as their health would permit. Mable entered the Clarkfield Care Center in 2002. She passed peacefully into the Lord's presence on Thursday morning, May 28, 2009, at the age of 97. Mable is survived by son Donald and Linda Rupp of Coon Rapids, son David and Gay Rupp of Clarkfield, daughter Arlene and Mike Wallin of Elk River., nine grandchildren: Jeff (Laura) Rupp, Pam (Charles) Smith, Mark (Kristyn) Rupp, Aaron Rupp, Pauline (Tyrone) Spenst, Sarah (Erick) Harper, Mike (Felicia) Wallin Jr., Shawn Wallin and Michelle Wallin; and 10 great grandchildren: Connor, Emma, Darin, Ashley, Hannah, Rachel, Micah, Levi, Caleb and Andrew. She is also survived by sister-in-law Marlus Neal of Murdock, sister-in-law Kathy Young of Bear, Delaware, nieces, nephews, and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond in 2002, brothers: Clarence, Lloyd and Reuben, and infant sister Helen. Mable was a kind, gentle and compassionate woman. Blessed be her memory.
