IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mabel Elvira
Rowberg
March 24, 1897 – June 6, 1897
Mabel Elvira Rowberg, the daughter of John and Johanna (Pederson) Gustafson was born March 24, 1897, at Hanley Falls, Minnesota. She was baptized at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church on June 6, 1897, by Rev. J.S. Strand and confirmed there by the Rev. Ole Lokensgaard in 1911. As a youth, she lived with her parents on the family farm north of Hanley Falls. On June 28, 1917, she was untied in marriage to Edwin Rowberg in the same church by Rev. Ole Lokensgaard. The family took up residence at Highlanding, Minnesota. To this union were born three sons and a daughter: Lloyd, Philip, Harland and Marjorie. Several years later, the family returned to the Hanley Falls community where the management of the family farm southwest of Hanley Falls was taken over. About three years ago, Mabel and her husband retired from active farming to establish residence in Hanley Falls village. A year later, they were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in the church in which they were married. Mabel entered the Clarkfield Community Hospital about a month ago. She seemed to be progressing well when on the morning of April 22, 1969, she suffered a coronary and passed from this life at the age of 72 years. She is survived by her husband, Edwin; her children: Lloyd of Oradell, New Jersey, Philip of Akron, Ohio, Harland of Hanley Falls, and Marjorie (Mrs. Kermin Albin) of Granite Falls; four brothers and three sisters: Melvin Gustafson of Hanley Falls, Arthur Gustafson of Minneapolis, Elmer Gustafson of Nashua, Iowa, Sanford Gustafson of Minnetonka, Mrs. Anna Johnson of Minneapolis, Mrs. Thelma Dressel of Wayzata, Mrs. Ardella Bailey of Sunnyvale, California; and eight grandchildren. A brother, Gilbert, preceded her in death. IN MEMORY OF MRS. EDWIN S.
