Mabel O. Rodness was born on October 17, 1888, in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of Hans and Anna Marie (Anderson) Rodness. She was baptized by Rev. Carl Moen and confirmed at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church by Rev. O.C. Farseth. She spent a number of years working in San Francisco, California, and in Minneapolis. Later, she and her brother, Peter, spent many years farming the Rodness farm west of Clarkfield. In 1961, she retired and moved to Clarkfield where she spent the remaining years of her life. She passed away April 3, 1966, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital at the age of 77 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Carl, Anton and Martin; two sisters: Sarah (Mrs. Clarence Grimley) and Hilma (Mrs. Henry Williams). She leaves to mourn her departure, one brother, Peter; two sisters: Lina (Mrs. Carl Fransen) of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Nettie Raycraft of California; and several nieces and nephews.
