Mabel Lee was born May 29, 1897, to Michael and Petra (Knutson) Johnson on a farm near Windom, Minnesota. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, May 18, 1913. She attended rural school near her birthplace. Prior to her confirmation her family moved to Clarkfield where the family operated the meat market. Mabel was united in marriage to William L. Lee and they moved to Northwood, North Dakota, where he managed a grain elevator until his death in 1960. She then moved back to Clarkfield were she resided the past 15 years. She moved into the Clarkfield Care Center about two and a half years ago. She passed away at the Clarkfield Community Memorial Hospital on October 10, 1976, at the age of 79. Survivors include a son Wayne and four grandchildren: Deborah, Tim, Mary Kay and Mary Pat, all of Bloomington, Minnesota; three sisters: Mrs. Agnes Lodoen of Provost, Alberta, Canada, Mrs. Anna Steinbicer of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, Mrs. Pearl Olson of St. Paul; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, William Lyle; her parents; one sister Laura; and six brothers: Johnny, Melvin, Charles, Oscar, Cyril and Elmer. IN MEMORY OF MABEL P.
