Mabel Larson was born October 13, 1896, in Clarkfield, Minnesota, the daughter of Gunerius and Mathea Sorum Grinager. She was baptized and confirmed in the Bergen Lutheran Church. She attended school in district 77 in Lisbon Township. On October 11, 1923, she married Peder Larson at Clarkfield. They farmed in Lisbon until his death in 1951. Mabel worked hard as a farm wife. She put this experience to work at the Black and White Cafe in Montevideo and the Green Lake Bible Camp on Green Lake. In later years she was confined to a wheelchair at Luther Haven Nursing Home where she was known for her ready smile and never complaining attitude despite her handicaps. Mabel passed away February 2, 1992, at the age of 95 at Luther Haven Nursing Home. She is survived by two sons, Percy Larson and wife Floraine, and Gilmore Larson and wife Marilyn. Also one sister-in-law Cora Grinager; nine grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
