Mabel Armania Kroger, the daughter of Edward and Emilia Henry was born at Belmont, Wisconsin on November 17, 1885. On May 29, 1902, she was united in marriage to John Kroger of Kingsley, Iowa, by Rev. Fred Lothringer at the Lutheran Church at Denison, Iowa. To this union were born five sons and one daughter: Earl, John, Eddie, Lloyd, Freddie and Lillian. The Krogers farmed in Kingsley and in Moville, Iowa, and then south of Cottonwood, Minnesota. Upon her husband's retirement in 1940, they moved to Hanley Falls, Minnesota, where she has continued to live until a year ago when she entered the Clarkfield Nursing Home, Clarkfield, Minnesota. She passed from this life on the eve of July 6, 1965, at the nursing home at the age of 79 years. Mrs. Kroger was baptized in her infancy and later confirmed by Rev. Andrew Hegre at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church at Hanley Falls, in 1954. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and by her sons, Freddie and Earl. Surviving are her children: John of Marshall, Minnesota, Edward of Cottonwood, Minnesota, Lloyd of Milaca, Minnesota, and Mrs. Melvern Iverson of Hanley Falls, Minnesota; one brother, Fred Henry of Moville, Iowa; ten grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
