Lydia Martha Hanson was born May 15, 1909, in Minnesota, the daughter of Charles Tesch and Minnie (Wolf) Tesch. On February 7, 1932, she was united in marriage to Joseph Manford Hanson. They established their first home on a farm near Sherburn, Minnesota, and later moved to the Boyd community where they operated their farm. After her husband's first heart attack in 1951, and his failing health, the family moved into Boyd where they operated a cafe for a number of years. Mrs. Hanson passed away August 4, 1959, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, at the age of 50 years. Survivors include three daughters: Jean (Mrs. Kenneth Johnson) of Kasota, Minnesota, Luetta (Mrs. Robert Fousek) of Farmington, Minnesota, and Marlys (Mrs. Ronald Hennen) of Wabasso, Minnesota; one son, Manford Charles, and six grandchildren.
