Lydia Alma Kopitzke was born July 27, 1902, in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota to John and Magdalena (Weigers) Kopitzke. She was married May 16, 1924, to Carl Oscar Lilljestrale. This union was blessed with one daughter, Shirley Jean, now Mrs. Kennon Rude of Hector, Minnesota. Lydia was an active member of the Ladies Aid and a former Sunday School teacher. She also belonged to the Royal Neighbors. She passed away at the Olivia Hospital, Olivia, Minnesota, August 6, 1959, at the age of 57 years. Besides her daughter, she is survived by one grandchild, Carlton Grant Lilljestrale Rude; a son-in- law, Dr. Kennon Rude of Hector; and 10 of her 12 brothers and sisters, namely, Herman of Brockton, Montana, Henry of Boyd, Minnesota, Otto of California, Oscar of Willmar, Minnesota, Edmund of Boyd, Minnesota, Edward of California, Landow of St. Paul, Minnesota, Ida (Mrs. William Laechelt) of Boyd, Minnesota, and Alma (Mrs. John Rikke) and Clara (Mrs. Arthur Stueland) of Clarkfield, Minnesota.
