Obituary

Lydia Amanda Footh, daughter of Gottlieb Abraham and Wilhelminea (Zinter) Abraham, was born September 14, 1880, in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized on October 31, 1880, by Rev. Ch. Bottcher. She was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Omro Township, on May 18, 1894, by Rev. Jacob Frey. She was married to Christ Footh in St. John's Lutheran Church, on October 9, 1902, by Rev. E.G. Fritz. Four children were born to this union: Alfred, Alice (Mrs. Henry Sommerfeld), Reuben and Viola. Mrs. Footh and her husband lived with his parents near St. Leo, Minnesota, about one year after they were married and then moved to their farm in Omro Township. Mrs. Footh suffered a stroke on April 1, 1954, and on April 5 that same year, she came to live with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Sommerfeld. On May 28, 1958, she fell and broke her hip and has been bedridden since. After spending six weeks in the Dawson Hospital she returned to her daughter's home and on August 21, 1959, she entered the Holtan Nursing Home in Dawson. On Friday, April 22, 1960, she suffered a severe stroke from which she never regained consciousness. She passed away Sunday, April 24, 1960, at 79 years of age. Mrs. Footh leaves to mourn her departure, her daughter, Alice (Mrs. Henry Sommerfeld) of Dawson, Minnesota; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Clara Footh, of Minneapolis; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ottile Malkow, of Gary, South Dakota; one brother, Adolph Abraham of Boyd, Minnesota. Mrs. Footh was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Alfred and Reuben, daughter Viola, her parents, one brother and four sisters. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
