Lula Gullickson Willander Hasel was born May 18, 1907, to parents Olaus and Leve (Berg) Gullickson in Clarkfield, Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. On January 18, 1927, she married Reynold Willander of Clarkfield. To this union were born five children: Phyllis (Mrs. Arnold) Johnson of Burnsville, Minnesota; Lois (Mrs. Len) Rindfleisch of Minneapolis, Minnesota; LaVade (Mrs. James) Utton of Charlotte, North Carolina; Denton Willander of Burnsville, Minnesota; and Roxanne Richling of Los Angeles, Californina. Preceded by husband Willander and husband Walfred Hasel Survivors include her children:Phyllis (Mrs. Arnold) Johnson of Granite Falls, Minnesota; Lois (Mrs. Len) Rindfleisch of Minneapolis, Minnesota; LaVade (Mrs. James) Utton of Phoenix, Arizona; Denton Willander of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Roxanne (Mrs. Bill) Richling of Los Angeles, Californina. Her husband passed away February 25, 1946. Lula remained in Clarkfield and raised her five children. Lula married Walfred Hasel of Clarkfield in June of 1952. They remained in Clarkfield until moving to Minneapolis in 1954. In recent years they have resided in Montevideo. For the past two months, Lula was hospitalized at Deaconess Hospital in Minneapolis. She passed away on Sunday, October 9, 1977, at the age of 70. Lula was preceded in death by her mother and father, two brothers, one sister, her husband Reynold, and one grandchild. She leaves to mourn five children, ten grandchildren, two great grandchilden and a host of family and friends.
