Ludwig Pipke was born January 20, 1877, in Barbre, Faribault County, Minnesota, the son of Wilhelm and Ottilie (Norenberg) Pipke. He was baptized February 1st, 1877, by Pastor John Brandt and came with his parents to Yellow Medicine County at the age of four years. He was confirmed April 5, 1891, at Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Omro Township by Pastor Christian Bottcher and was a lifelong member of Omro church. Mr. Pipke passed away February 27, 1951, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, Clarkfield, Minnesota, at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 7 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers. Mr. Pipke is survived by his three brothers: Edward, Wilhelm and Ewald, all of Omro Township; and other relatives and friends.
