Loyd Robert Rasmussen was born December 4, 1937, at Marshall, Minnesota to Hans and Iris (Scott) Rasmussen. He grew up and went to school in the Marshall area and then entered the U. S. Air Force where he served for four years. During this time he was united in marriage to Darlene Lundy of Clarkfield, Minnesota. Their first home was in Duluth, Minnesota, until his discharge from the service in 1962. Following service they moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where they lived for several years. In 1971 they moved to Clarkfield where they have resided since. Loyd passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 19, 1980, at the age of 42 years. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; daughters: Cindy (Mrs. Scott Donner) of Clarkfield, Diane (Mrs. Danny Grant) of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Susan at home; one son, Douglas; one grandchild; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Rasmussen of Marshall; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Scott of California; six brothers; three sisters; and a host of nieces and nephews.
