Louise E. Lofdahl was born on April 17, 1915, at Webster, South Dakota, to parents C.C. and Mabel (Dahl) Elkjer. The family moved to Montevideo, Minnesota, where she attended and graduated from Montevideo High School. Louise and Lyndon Lofdahl were married at Montevideo, Minnesota, on October 17, 1936. They came to Clarkfield, Minnesota, in the 1940s and worked in the bank with her father, C.C. Elkjer. Following the death of her husband in 1968, Louise left the community. Louise passed away in Vancouver, Washington, on Thursday, July 8th, 1999, at the age of 84 years, 2 months, and 22 days. She is survived by her son, Marcus Lofdahl, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and daughter, Virginia Reber, of Vancover, Washington. She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sister, Marge Nelson of Clarkfield, Minnesota; and brothers: Rev. Charles Elkjer of Greenwood, Indiana, and Stanley Elkjer of San Rafael, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brother Robert. Louise loved her church and her Lord. She was a Charter Member of the Clarkfield Alliance Church and the Clarkfield Garden Club. The church was her life. Blessed be her memory.
