Louise W. Kelm was born in Ratschine, Posen Township, Germany to William and Louise Kelm on June 22, 1884. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith in infancy. At the age of seven, she came to America with her oldest sister, Emma, and then made her home with an aunt near Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, until she was 14. Louise was one of twelve children, nine girls and three boys. All have preceded her in death except two sisters: Marie (Mrs. Henry Kammeyer) of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and Mrs. Helena Harding of Kiel, Germany. On October 14, 1909, Louise was united in marriage to Leo Koepp of the Boyd community. This union was blessed with three children. The Koepps had the privilege of residing on their home place for nearly all of their married life which numbered more than fifty years. Since the death of her husband, in April, 1960, Mrs. Koepp has been cared for at the home of her daughter, LeNora. Her health had been failing for several years. She passed away at the Ladd Memorial Hospital at Osceola, Wisconsin, at the age of 77 years. She is survived by her daughters: LeNora (Mrs. Irvin Neuman) of Osceola, Wisconsin, and Alice (Mrs. Dale Jorgenson) of Couer d'Alene, Idaho; and one son, Reuben Koepp of Boyd, Minnesota; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters; and a host of relatives and friends.
