By Erling Brudevold My aunt and godmother, Louise Grevstad She was born June 1, 1895, in Sykkylven, Norway, the youngest of five sisters, and died there July 28, 1985, at the age of 90. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, both in Norway and the United States, and most -- if not all -- of you remember her well. Louise and Tom Grevstad were married in Norway in October of 1927, and in December of that year he brought her to Clarkfield to the farm he had there. To say the least, conditions were different, no electricity and no running water, as she was used to, and Tom's batchelor housekeeping was pretty basic. However, they both worked hard on the house and land and soon had the place in order, and eventually the farm had electricity and running water, too. Tom's way of living went through drastic changes, as, for instance, no more trips to Clarkfield in a straw hat at 15
