Mrs. Louise Anderson Friberg was born in Skone, Sweden, on September 29, 1970, the daughter of John and Anna Anderson. She was about fourteen when she came to America with her parents and settled on a farm in Tyro Township. She was confirmed that same year in the Swede Home Church by Pastor B.F. Bengtson. She was a charter member of the ladies aid of the Fridhem Church which later united with the present Augustana Lutheran in 1943. She was the oldest member of the congregation at the time of her death. In May of 1898, she was united in marriage with Charley Friberg, a neighbor boy. The couple farmed across the field from her parental home on the farm, five miles west and three miles south of Clarkfield where she remained until her death. Eight children were born to this union, all of whom were present at the funeral except Helmer. Winfred is at home, Alvin in Chicago, Illinois, Helmer in San Francisco, California, Mrs. Hulda Ludgate of Barlett, New Hampshire, Minnie (Mrs. Ivan Roberts) of Tuscon, Arizona, William of Minneapolis, Fredolph of Evansville, Minnesota, and Mabel (Mrs. Arnold Lindall) of Clarkfield. She passed away at the Clarkfield Community Hospital after a few days of hospitalization, having reached the age of 96 years. Along with her children, she is survived by 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and one brother, Swen P. Anderson, who resides at the Clarkfield Nursing Home. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
