Obituary

Louise Mathilda Eide, daughter of Bernt and Bertha (Sherdahl) Eide, was born December 31, 1887, in Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized by the Rev. E. Eriksen and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by the Rev. Gulbrandson at the Camp Release Lutheran Church. She attended the elementary school in District 4 and lived at home on the farm in Stony Run Township until 1918 when she enrolled as a student in the Deaconess Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She completed her nurses training there in 1921 and as a registered nurse worked at the Deaconess Hospital for several years and also worked for a while at the Montevideo Hospital. She devoted much of her life to nursing duties and later to taking care of her parents after they moved to Montevideo where she made her home until the time of her death. Louise passed away at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital on Monday afternoon, January 2, 1967, at the age of 79 years, after a month's illness there. Her health had been failing these past years. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Nils and Christopher, and one sister, Emelia. She is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Mary Nelson of Clinton, Minnesota, and Mrs. Bertina Benson of Boyd, Minnesota; 18 nieces and nephews; several great as well as great grand nieces and nephews; besides a host of friends.
