Obituary

Louise Loken Barnes was born at Clarkfield, Minnesota, on July 7, 1891, the daughter of Lars and Marie (Auflem) Loken. She taught school in Yellow Medicine County for eighteen years and served as county superintendent of schools prior to Clara Thorpe. In 1934, she was united in marriage to Charles P. Barnes of Oelwein, Iowa, and resided in that area until his death in 1956. She made her home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and was active in community affairs and activities in the Nordfjord Lag. She was baptized and confirmed in the same church where her final rites were held. She passed away at the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, on Saturday, October 30, 1965, after being hospitalized some over seven weeks. She attained the age of 74 years. She is survived by two brothers and three sisters: Mrs. Minnie Axline of Oelwein, Iowa, Mrs. Anne Dahl, Elwyn Loken and Mrs. LuElla Larsen, all of Minneapolis and Marvin Loken of Clarkfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Clara; three brothers: Albert Loken, Ludwig Loken and an infant brother. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
