Obituary

Louie Manfred Brecke was born in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, April 15, 1899, the son of Lars and Martha (Davidson) Brecke. He was baptized in the Hazel Run Lutheran Church by Rev. J.S. Strand and confirmed in the same church by Rev. J.J. Salhus. In 1937, Louie was united in marriage to Frances Marie Larson. This union was blessed with two children, Jerry Lowell, now attending Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Annette Marie, who graduates this June from the Clarkfield High School. The family resided in Hazel Run where he worked in the trucking and corn shelling business and he operated his land on the edge of town. He was a patient, kind and loving man and served his family well. For the past four or five months, his health failed and on April 1st, he was hospitalized in Clarkfield in critical condition. He was transferred to Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis where he passed away May 14, 1959, at the age of 60 years and four weeks. Louie leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Frances; his son, Jerry; and daughter, Annette; and one foster sister, Jensine Idland of Circle, Montana; besides a host of relatives and friends.
