Obituary

Lorrin Orlando Dahlager was born on September 4, 1917, in Escanaba, Michigan, to Pastor Ole and Laura Bredeson Dahlager. He was the youngest of four sons. He graduated from high school in Starbuck, Minnesota, and received his Bachelors Degree in education from Augsburg College in 1939. He also earned a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Minnesota. Lorrin served for four and one-half years in the United States Army. After being discharged from the army, he taught high school math and science and coached football and basketball in New Richland, Minnesota, where he met June Trovatten. They were married on June 30, 1947, in St. Paul, Minnesota. After serving as a teacher and school administrator in several Minnesota communities, Lorrin and June moved to Clarkfield, where he was superintendent of schools for ten years. In his retirement years he took pleasure in having time to visit relatives and friends, to travel and especially to share in many of his grandson's activities. Lorrin O. Dahlager, 75, died Wednesday, March 17, 1993, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital. He is survived by his wife June of Clarkfield; son Jim and wife Pam; and grandson, Jon of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; and his brother Karl of Northfield, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Halvard and Oswald.
