Loretta Wilson was born June 4, 1903, in Nicollet, Minnesota, to parents Frank and Louise (Blank) Hackbarth. She was baptized and confirmed in the Nicollet Lutheran Church. She was united in marriage to Melvin Wilson on May 22, 1922, at Mankato, Minnesota. To this union was born one daughter, Violet. They lived on a farm near Hazel Run, Minnesota, until 1965 when they retired to Granite Falls, Minnesota, until her death on December 30, 1976, at age 73, after a long illness. She leaves to mourn, her husband Melvin; daughter, Mrs. Bud Long, Hazel Run; one granddaughter, Bonnie Cordes, Monroe, Oregon; two sisters: Olga Oslund of Nicollet and Linda Studnicka of Waterville; one brother Harold Hackbarth, St. Paul; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
