Lois Olson Erie, 57, of Dawson, Minnesota, died Saturday, June 22, 1985, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital of Dawson. She had been battling cancer since the fall of 1984. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 24, 1985, at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd, Minnesota, with Pastor Jeff Swanson officiating. The organist and soloist was Vernon Stevens. Casket Bearers were Virgil Anderson, Charles Doose, Owen Estling, Melbourne Fjerkenstad, Hilman Korstad and Mike Korstad. She was born July 13, 1927, in Dawson to Gustav and Mabel (Jackson) Swenson. She was baptized at home and confirmed in Montevideo, Minnesota. On September 8, 1946, she married Obert J. Olson in Boyd. They had five children. He died on Sept. 23, 1976. On August 11, 1977 she married Charles Erie of Clarkfield, Minnesota. She was active in her church and enjoyed the outdoors and her flowers and plants. She is survived by her husband Charles; children Jonie (Mrs. Jerry) Woefel of Seaforth, Minnesota, Karen (Mrs. LeRoy) Schuelke of Boyd, Julie (Mrs. Marc) Gruenewald of Dawson, Scott of Willmar, Minnesota, and Tim, who recently graduated from high school; sisters, Dorothy Palmer of Tampa, Florida, Eleanor (Mrs. Ormund) Kravik of Forest Lake, Minnesota, Marilyn (Mrs. August) Enevoldsen of Waseca, Minnesota, and Peggy (Mrs. William) Sommers of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; plus nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Obert and her parents.
