Lloyd Kise was a lifelong resident of the Clarkfield, Minnesota area. He was born January 25, 1910, to Hans and Betsey (Stensrud) Kise in Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. His father was from the Hanley Falls, Minnesota community, and his mother a native of Norway. He was one of ten children. On May 20, 1942, he was united in marriage to Minerva Moen. To this union, three children were born: Loretta (Mrs. Gordon Hewitt) of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Rose (Mrs. Jerry Hansen) of Alexandria, Minnesota, and David at home. Following his marriage, Lloyd worked part of a year at a body and automobile repair service in Minneapolis before returning to the Boyd community where he operated a restaurant for many years and also was in the gasoline station business. In 1950, the family moved to Clarkfield where they have since operated Lloyd's Place. He is survived by his widow, Minerva; the three children; four grandchildren; and one sister, Gladys (Mrs. Oscar Bestland) of Hanley Falls, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters: Cora (Mrs. George Jacobson) of Big Lake, Minnesota, Forest, Manford, Oscar, Henry, Ida (Mrs. Emil Ellingson), Alvina and Hannah.
