Lizetta Wiegers Oien was born June 21, 1885, in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, and spent her entire life in the Boyd, Minnesota community. She was the daughter of Peter and Kathrine (Loaman) Wiegers. In 1906, she was married to Ole J. Oien at the Omro Church where she was baptized and confirmed. She died Monday, May 18, 1970, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, at the age of 84 years. She suffered a stroke Sunday at the home of her daughter in Boyd. She was the last of a family of ten. Surviving are four children: Alfred Oien and Frances Kelm of Boyd, Clarence Oien of Scappoose, Oregon, and Ray Oien of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota; ten grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ole, her son, Chester, and her sisters and brothers. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
