IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Liane Fay
Hanson
February 14, 2016 – February 14, 2016
Liane Hanson February 14th, 1956 - July 15th, 2016 In 1956, Howard M. and Deloryce E. (Severson) Hanson received a special valentine; their second daughter, Liane Fay Hanson, was born on Valentine's Day, February 14th at Hennepin County Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Liane was baptized on April 8, 1956, by Rev. E. L. Borg-Breen at St. Lucas Lutheran Church, rural Cottonwood, Minnesota. She was confirmed at St. Lucas on May 9, 1971, by Rev. Dean Fodness. She attended Clarkfield Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1974. After high school, she worked as a nursing assistant at the Clarkfield Hospital. When the hospital closed, she worked as a Home Health Aid for Yellow Medicine County. Liane grew up with parents and older sister, Ruth Ann, on the family farm. Liane loved to bake and cook and shop for groceries. She enjoyed family road trips. Liane dearly loved animals, and enjoyed the company of her cats, dogs, parakeets and fish. She also liked time to be alone and enjoyed watching television. As a young woman, it became clear that something wasn't quite right. Liane eventually was diagnosed with a debilitating condition that bit by bit affected her ability to control her muscle movements, her speech and her vision. When she could no longer live alone, she made her home with her sister's family. On July 23, 1999, she became a resident of St. William's Living Center in Parkers Prairie and remained a resident there for almost seventeen years. She died at St. William's Living Center on July 15, 2016, after a long illness. She was 60 years, 5 months, and 1 day old. Liane is survived by her sister, Ruth Ann (John) Schmidt; nephew, James Anderson; niece, Amy (Paul) Weltin; great nieces and nephews: Brynn Weltin and Fox, Ian Weltin, and Brandon Anderson; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard M. and Deloryce E. Hanson, and by her niece, Emilie Ann Schmidt. Liane's family wishes to thank the staff at St. William's Living Center and Hospice staff and volunteers for their help and care. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lucas Lutheran Church, rural Cottonwood, Minnesota. Blessed by her memory.
