Lewis John Eye was born July 7, 1911, in Sioux Agency Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the son of Bert and Bia (Slettedahl) Eye. He moved with his parents to a farm southwest of Clarkfield, Minnesota, where he was farming until the time of his death. He passed away Wednesday, April 19, 1978, in Tyro Township, at the age of 66 years. On September 19, 1964, he was united in marriage to Helma (Foss) Stokke. They made their home in Clarkfield and Lewie continued farming. He is survived by his wife, Helma; brother, Bennie of Clarion, Iowa; sisters: Anna, Laura, and Olga Eye, all of Clarkfield; and four nieces. Other survivors are members of Helma's family: step-son Duane and wife Donna of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, step-daughter, Beulah and husband Earl Lindquist of Clarkfield, step-daughter, Sharon and husband Gene Brunner of Clarkfield He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Orvin and Alfred, and nephew, Burton.
