Lester Newman Dotseth was born November 8, 1905, in Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the second son of Carl and Josie Dotseth. He was baptized by Rev. Salhus and was confirmed at Spring Creek Lutheran Church by Rev. O.T. Storaasli. He attended school at Spring Creek and Juanita, North Dakota, where the Dotseth family resided for four years. Upon returning to Minnesota, they lived on farms in Tyro, Hazel Run and Normania Townships. Lester was engaged in farming, the occupation which he continued until his health failed. On November 25, 1945, he was united in marriage to Ardeth Diggins Listul. To this union one daughter, Diane, was born. Mr. Dotseth passed away November 23, 1962, at his Friendship Township home, at the age of 57 years. He had been in failing health for four years, had been hospitalized, and was a bed patient at his home since the first of September. He is survived by his wife, Ardeth; daughter, Diane; stepdaughters, Gail Listul, Sharon Dyrdahl, and her husband, Dennis; grandchildren Pamela and Allen Drydahl; his parents of Granite Falls; two brothers, Clifford of Clarkfield and Virgil of Granite Falls; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
